The Doom series turns 30 years old


In honor of this event, John Romero, one of the creators of the original game, released an addition to it called Sigil 2.

The first part of the Doom series was released on December 10, 1993. In honor of the franchise’s 30th anniversary, John Romero released the Sigil 2 expansion, which includes several new levels. You can download it on the official website of the developer.

In addition, in December, the Bombora publishing house will release John Romero’s book “The Icon of DOOM. Life from the first person. Autobiography” in Russian. The book sheds light on many canonical questions about gaming history and fully reveals the life and psychology of top developers.

Over its 30-year history, the Doom series has received several serialized installments and been rebooted. The latest part at the moment is DOOM Eternal from the studio id Software and publisher Bethesda.
