Last month, it was announced that the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is rescheduled for Q1 2024. Then at gamescom 2023, a new gameplay trailer from the upcoming GSC Game World project was shown. The trailer caused a stir among gamers, who complained about a significant deterioration in graphics compared to previous promotional materials. At the same time, the developers assure that they intend to refine the visual component of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
Zakhar Bocharov, PR manager of GSC Game World, spoke about this in an interview with IGN. A representative of the Ukrainian studio said that work on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is already fully completed, and the developers are currently focused on finalizing individual elements, including the visual component.
At GSC Game World, we believe that we can fulfill our ambitions and show the world what they are truly capable of. Indeed, the studio is aiming for STALKER 2 to look the same on release day as it does on 2021 promotional materials. However, Bocharov does not rule out that “some obstacles” may arise along the way.
Finally, I would like to remind you that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 will be released on PC and Xbox Series X/S. The release of the game from the studio GSC Game World is expected in the first quarter of 2024. However, the exact release date of the game is unknown.
