Turkish developers are challenging GTA VI: a Phantom Vice Auto clone will be released on PC on November 19

As is well known, Rockstar Games is not planning to release Grand Theft Auto 6 on PC simultaneously with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions, scheduled for release on November 19th. The official reason is a desire to focus on the consoles’ hardware and core audience. However, many believe that fear of piracy is a significant factor in this decision.

However, PC gamers will still have the opportunity to shoot pedestrians and drive around a Miami-style city on the same day. And this will be done not by Rockstar, but by the Turkish studio Brgames Interactive, which is planning to release its game Phantom Vice Auto into Early Access on Steam.

The game will feature: driving (4 types of cars), shooting (5 types of weapons), pedestrians, parkour animations, and… that’s all for now. The Steam description lists three playable GTA V-style protagonists—a street con man, a disgraced ex-agent, and a cold-blooded mercenary—as well as supposedly a 32-player multiplayer mode. However, these promises should be taken with a grain of salt, as the studio’s website states that work on the project only began in 2024, and the store describes the game as a “next-gen hit,” as if it were a remaster of a legendary title rather than Early Access.

Will Phantom Vice Auto be able to compete with the decade’s biggest blockbuster? Clearly not. But therein lies the main intrigue: not the graphics or the budget, but the sheer scale of the challenge. Three enthusiasts from Turkey versus Rockstar’s multi-million dollar machine—even if it’s a losing battle, it will at least be fascinating to watch.
