The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has been released

Almost the entire beginning of 2025, the gaming community was shaken by rumors about the re-release of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, one of the most iconic role-playing games from Bethesda. Insiders claimed that a full-fledged remake or, at least, a high-quality remaster was in development. After months of silence and unofficial leaks, the developers finally confirmed that Oblivion is indeed returning. Yesterday, the long-awaited announcement took place, and with it the first demonstration of the updated version of the classic.

As previously reported, the game is being reimagined by Virtuos, which has received support and consulting assistance from Bethesda Game Studios. The announcement took place in the format of a nostalgic trailer: at first, viewers were reminded of the original game – with its atmosphere, early concepts and memories of key developers. Then the video smoothly moved on to the modern version of Oblivion Remastered with significantly improved graphics, new visual effects and redesigned controls.

The developers promise a fully recreated Cyrodiil with manually updated locations and refreshed architecture, without violating the spirit of the original. The remaster includes all story add-ons – Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, as well as a set of mini-DLCs. The gameplay remains true to its roots, but has received a number of improvements, including a redesigned combat system, an adapted interface and improved navigation around the world.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is now available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. The game is also included in the Game Pass catalog.
