Subnautica 2 Reveals Secrets: New Audio Message Delves Deeper into the Plot

Unknown Worlds Entertainment, the developers, continue to fuel interest in Subnautica 2 by sharing cryptic snippets of the upcoming adventure. The studio recently published a second audio message, which sheds light on the game’s storylines. The recording reads: “The situation around the Mongolian settlement is beginning to look critical. People are fleeing. But with so much at stake, it’s unclear whether this young family will follow them or cling to their dreams.” This snippet hints at new themes of colonization and survival that will become key to the narrative.

Previously, the studio revealed the creation of the new underwater vehicle, the Tadpole, heightening anticipation for technical innovations in the game. Subnautica 2 is scheduled for Early Access in 2026. The delay is due to a desire to expand content and incorporate feedback from closed testing.

Preparation for the release was not without its challenges: divisions within the studio, layoffs, and even legal battles between former employees and publisher Krafton. Despite the challenges, the team continues to work on the project, promising players a large-scale and detailed underwater adventure.
