Video game development veterans have joined the creation of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel

CD PROJEKT RED has announced several high-profile additions to the team working on Project Orion, the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel being created by the US and Canada-based CD PROJEKT RED North America subsidiary.

Project Orion is currently in the early stages of development, with studio veterans previously involved with Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty add-on leading the project, including Gabriel Amatangelo (game director), Pawel Sasko (deputy game director), Igor Sarzinski (creative director), Andrzej Stop (cinematic director), Kasper Nepokolczycki (environment art director), Sarah Grummer (acting. acting lead quest designer) and Kasper Koscienski (technical director).

They are joined by game industry professionals:

  • Dan Hernberg joins the team as executive producer. He previously worked as Head of Production at Amazon Games, Head of Production and Product Management at Panic Button and Lead Product Manager at Blizzard Entertainment, and has contributed to games such as New World, Apex Legends and Diablo III.
  • Ryan Barnard, who has worked in the past as a game director at Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft, as well as director of gameplay at IO Interactive. He will share his skills as design director.
  • Alan Villani joins the Project Orion team as CTO, having previously served as VP of Technology for various WB game products, including technical leadership for several Mortal Kombat games.
  • Anna Megill is a game writer with 20 years of experience. She joins Project Orion as lead writer after contributing to projects such as Control, Dishonored: Death of The Outsider, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Guild Wars 2 and Playground Games’ upcoming Fable.
  • Alexander Fried will continue to work on the The screenplay for Project Orion. He previously worked as lead scriptwriter at BioWare on Star Wars: The Old Republic, among other things. He has also scripted and consulted for various major studios including DICE, Obsidian Entertainment, and Wizards of the Coast.

The sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t have a release date yet.
