‘The Squid Game’ Back on Top: Season 3 Breaks Netflix Record

The final third season of the South Korean hit “The Squid Game” has started with a stunning success. In just three days, it has collected 60.1 million views, setting a new Netflix record for non-English-language series. With this result, the show entered the top 9 most popular projects on the streaming service in this category.

For comparison: the second season collected 68 million views in four days and then even overtook “Wednesday” with its 50.1 million in 2022.

Despite the record numbers, the final season received a mixed reaction. On Rotten Tomatoes, the average user rating was 50%, and on IMDb – 6.8 points for the last episode. The rest of the episodes of the season are rated higher – from 7.4 to 8.7 points.

The plot of the third season continues the story of Song Ki-hoon, better known as Player 456. After the tragic events of the second season, he decides to go to the end to destroy the cruel system of games. The new season focuses on the hero’s psychological transformation and the end of his fight against the system that changed his life forever.
