The Hell Is Us demo received a warm welcome on Steam

Yesterday, Rogue Factor and Nacon released the first demo of Hell Is Us, an action-adventure game set in an unusual open world that combines modern and fantasy elements.

Reading player reviews on the Steam forums, it becomes clear that the demo was received quite warmly, although there is no talk of admiration. Players definitely liked the atmosphere and the interestingly designed world. The combat system also made a good impression, although some note that it still needs to be improved so that the blows seem more powerful. It would also be nice to increase the variety of enemies and improve the animation.

At the same time, the demo has various technical problems. First of all, on Nvidia GeForce 40 and 50 series cards, there is a tendency to freeze when watching the introductory video. The developers are working on a fix, but for now they recommend lowering the graphics settings and disabling upscaling (DLSS, FSR and XeSS). This bug only affects this video, so once it’s over and we start playing, we can go back to the menu, increase the settings, and enable upscaling.

Yesterday’s record for concurrent players on Steam was 3,748, which is a solid result.

The demo also gives you the opportunity to test out the optimization. Most of the Steam reviews about the optimization of the demo are very positive, which is especially important since the game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5, which has performance issues in open-world games.

Hell Is Us will be released on both PC and consoles, with a release scheduled for September 4th of this year.
