On Metacritic, the game holds an average score of 77, with reviewers praising its fresh take on a genre tired of serious simulators.

The game’s key feature is its unusual control system: the left stick controls turns, while the right one drifts and shifts gears. Aggressive driving generates energy, which can be used for attacks, defense, or Overdrive mode.
