Sales of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl reached 1.4 million copies on Steam, which brought in $66 million

It has been almost a week since the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. GSC Game World has already reported impressive sales at launch, but here’s some data from the Video Game Insights analytics platform.

  • VG Insights estimates that sales of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 have reached 1.4 million copies on Steam alone as of November 24th.
  • GSC Game World previously reported that the game broke the 1 million mark in just two days after launching on November 20th. This includes copies on both PC and Xbox, with the developers saying that “many more stalkers have joined the artifact hunt with the Game Pass.”
  • VG Insights also estimated that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was launched with over 2.5 million wish lists on Steam, 400,000 of which were created in the month leading up to the launch.
  • The United States is the number one country in terms of the number of copies sold, accounting for 22% of the total. They are followed by Ukraine (16%), Germany (7%) and China (7%).
  • Gamalytic assumes a different distribution of players by country: Ukraine (25.5%), Turkey (15.3%).
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2’s revenue on Steam (before deducting Valve’s 30% share and taxes) is estimated at $66.7 million. The average figure on Gamalytic is 48.6 million dollars.
  • According to VG Insights, the audience of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2 intersects with games such as The Forever Winter, Witchfire and Incursion Red River.

Released on November 20, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl attracted over 110,000 concurrent Steam players and reached a new peak of 121.3 thousand over the weekend. The game currently has a “Mostly Positive” rating (78%) on the platform based on over 33,000 reviews.
