New Resident Evil Requiem Gameplay and Details

At the Capcom Spotlight presentation, new gameplay of the horror Resident Evil Requiem was presented. The developers also shared details of the project.

Thus, it became known that the events of the game will unfold 30 years after the finale of Resident Evil 2, in which Raccoon City was wiped off the face of the Earth by a nuclear strike. The main character will be Grace Ashcroft, who will go to the deserted city. The authors emphasize that the new protagonist will be different from other characters – in particular, she is easily frightened and fights less courageously than, for example, Leon Kennedy, but gradually learns to cope with fears.

The developers said that they planned to make Leon the main character, but decided that he was too prepared, and therefore Capcom would not be able to maintain the atmosphere of horror. However, Leon may still appear in the game, since his absence has not been confirmed.

Resident Evil Requiem will feature first- and third-person perspectives, and the game developers noted that they had to practically develop two different games to implement both approaches.

The game will be released on February 27, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
