Liquid Swords unveiled its first project, Samson: A Tyndalston Story

Liquid Swords, the studio founded by Just Cause series founder Kristofer Sundberg, finally revealed its debut project at the PC Gaming Show—and it turned out to be far more ambitious than many fans expected. Titled Samson: A Tyndalston Story, the game is presented as a dark, open-world crime action game with a distinctly Grand Theft Auto feel and presentation.

Development began back in 2020, and for a long time, Liquid Swords teased players with only vague screenshots: industrial outskirts, dark streets, and a general sense of hopelessness, leading fans to compare the game to GTA IV and Max Payne. All that was known was that it was being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and that it was fundamentally different from the action-packed, explosive Just Cause series.

At the PC Gaming Show, the team debuted a full trailer—gritty, stylish, and confident. The game features a story-driven crime drama, deep bass, raspy voices, classic muscle cars, and impressive visuals that make the game feel like a big-budget blockbuster.

Sundberg also revealed that Liquid Swords employs former employees of Avalanche, Rockstar, and other renowned studios, meaning Samson: A Tyndalston Story has had a strong creative core from the start.
