Kingdom Hearts 4 is not going to be delayed – Tetsuya Nomura confirmed the release date for late 2027

Square Enix again recalled Kingdom Hearts IV at the Disney D23 exhibition, where it presented a new trailer and confirmed the previously announced release date of the end of 2027. Director Tetsuya Nomura separately assured players that the team has no plans to postpone the game to a later date.

According to Nomura, after the date was announced, there were suggestions on the Internet that the developers could still change plans. The director decided to personally dot the i’s and emphasized that the release at the end of 2027 remains valid.

“We announced that the game would be released at the end of 2027, and I saw some people online saying, ‘Oh, you know, maybe the actual release date might still get pushed back.’ “I just wanted to make it clear that this will not happen,” Nomura said.

The director also noted that the marketing campaign for Kingdom Hearts IV is just beginning, so in the future Square Enix is ​​going to gradually reveal new details of the game. Judging by this statement, players will still have a lot of materials about the project before the full release.

In a new trailer, the developers showed several Disney worlds that will appear in Kingdom Hearts IV. Among them was the Land of the Dead from The Secret of Coco and the Underworld from Hercules. In addition, the video showed some scenes with Mickey Mouse.

Kingdom Hearts IV is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. If Square Enix’s plans do not change, Sora and his friends’ new adventure will begin in late 2027.
