Horizon Online may be released in 2025

As you may already know, Sony is planning to expand the Horizon franchise with a multiplayer game being developed by Guerrilla Games, under the assumed name Horizon Online. Although there has not been an official announcement of the game yet, hints of its existence are confirmed by internal documents, rumors and job advertisements.

In particular, the new announcement for the testing intern indicates that the work will be related to the preparation of an online project, which is due to be released in the first half of 2025. This confirms that Horizon Online could be one of Sony’s major releases next year.

The project will be part of the company’s strategy to develop live-service games, in which Sony sees significant potential. Despite the mixed results of some games of this genre, such as the failure of Concord, Sony continues to invest in multiplayer projects. Given the success of Helldivers 2, the company intends to continue to develop this area, and Horizon Online can be an important step in this direction, offering fans of the series a new experience in the Horizon multiplayer universe.
