Gedonia 2 will tell us a story where the dark times have come for the kingdom, and all that is needed to save the world are heroes. The game has many elements of adventure, action and role-playing progression. We have played the campaign in early access, and you can read our impressions below.

The plot of Gedonia 2 is a classic story in which the character encounters evil, but it is also full of unexpected twists and small details that make it interesting. The main line begins with the hero having to help the locals, and at the same time investigate strange events in ancient ruins related to mysterious relics – “Tears of God”. All this is intertwined with the choice of decisions that seriously affect the course of the game.

Character creation is one of the most important stages, because its stats affect further development. We have four main characteristics: Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Charisma. Each of these skills can be pumped up to four levels, which gives us flexibility in creating a unique hero. Starting points can be distributed not only to the main profession, but also to others, so you can create hybrid classes, for example, a battle mage. But it is worth remembering that not all stats combine perfectly, and some combinations may be less effective than others.

In addition, you can choose a backstory for the character, which affects the dialogues and starting equipment, as well as the first impression of the game world.

What’s interesting is that you can create not only your own hero, but also a new world. This opens up the opportunity to replay quests with a new character. This is great because it allows you to experience adventures from a different perspective, already pumped up by the main character.

The world and locations in the game are truly impressive. The open world map is huge, and if all regions are as well-developed, then we will have a real adventure. The locations are carefully designed, they combine labyrinths, jumping puzzles and secret corners that reward exploration.

The game’s combat isn’t always fast-paced, and there were issues with enemy behavior in the later portion of the game, with enemies getting stuck, hovering in midair, or even flying up. This is a bit of a letdown, especially when facing hordes of enemies. On the other hand, choosing between magic or melee has a big impact on strategy, and you have to adapt to your playstyle. Sometimes you have to rely on the terrain to avoid enemies that are too tough.

As for leveling up, it is represented by a huge skill tree that allows you to customize your character down to the smallest detail. For example, you can choose a school of magic, be it lightning or earth magic, and this will radically change your playstyle. It is impossible to level up all the skills for one character, so you will have to make a choice, which gives the game additional value if you decide to recreate the hero.

Crafting is also at a high level here, with many professions, from blacksmith to alchemist, and in order to level up, you need to collect a lot of resources. However, crafted items do not differ much in characteristics, which is a little disappointing.

You can acquire combat companions, but to do this you need to pump up your charisma, which may not be so easy for some characters with a certain set of characteristics.

In addition, in Gedonia 2 there is an opportunity to acquire a plot for your own home, which you can arrange to your taste. However, it is worth noting that building and upgrading it is quite expensive, and it will require a lot of time to farm resources.

In terms of graphics and world development, the game has made a huge step forward compared to the first part. Locations have become more detailed, and the variety of quests and activities in the world only adds depth to the game. It is also worth noting that despite the elements of the game in the open world, Gedonia 2 feels like something more than just a copy of popular MMOs – the atmosphere and gameplay are reminiscent of not only World of Warcraft Classic, but also classic single-player RPGs.

Overall, Gedonia 2 is a game with great potential. At the moment, it already looks impressive, and we are looking forward to the release to see new regions and a continuation of the story.
