Euro Truck Simulator 2 – Nordic Horizons

Euro Truck Simulator 2 has finally received its long-awaited—and arguably largest—expansion, Nordic Horizons, which brings the entire Scandinavian Peninsula into the game. From Norway’s Arctic fjords and Sweden’s coastal fishing villages to the barren tundra of Finnish Lapland, the region is now fully open for trucking enthusiasts.

The developers put special emphasis on authentic Scandinavian city architecture to immerse players in the rich Viking heritage, promising a harmonious blend of nature, history, and the thrill of long-haul deliveries.

The new content features 40 meticulously recreated cities, including Kiruna, Trondheim, Oulu, and Umeå, each packed with landmarks and points of interest. Truckers will navigate winding rural roads, highways, city streets, and even unmarked gravel paths while exploring historical sites and witnessing the unforgettable glow of the northern lights.

Players will pick up jobs from 200 depots, with a wide range of cargo typical for the region: recycled materials, mining equipment, tools for farms and sawmills, and various other Nordic-themed freight types.

We haven’t explored every road Scandinavia has to offer just yet, but what we’ve seen so far is genuinely impressive—surpassing even our highest expectations. The scenic landscapes and narrow roads naturally encourage a slower, more mindful pace, drawing attention to the stunning northern surroundings.

And it’s not just us who feel this way. Player reviews overwhelmingly praise Nordic Horizons as the most detailed map expansion in the entire history of Euro Truck Simulator 2. The community applauds not only the high-quality landscapes but also the atmospheric northern vistas. Fans especially appreciate the lively, diverse environments, the abundance of small details, and the region’s unmistakable character—from towering fjords to breathtaking auroras.

It’s worth noting that the release of Nordic Horizons coincided with the launch of the Forest Machinery DLC, which expands the range of transportable cargo. This pack includes a variety of specialized equipment used in real forestry operations—from skidders and mulchers to excavators and forwarders. Truckers also gain access to new vehicle accessories, such as mirrors, lights, and wiper covers, allowing them to give their rig a personal touch.

Thanks to the efforts of the developers at SCS Software, Euro Truck Simulator 2 has been receiving high-quality content for many years, which has kept the game interesting. Each expansion brings back many of the simulator’s fans and attracts new players. Euro Truck Simulator 2 is a great example of excellent support and content, where each update improves the game and keeps it relevant even years after its release.
