Details of Far Cry 7 have become known

According to well-known insider Tom Henderson, Ubisoft is developing two games for the franchise: the main Far Cry 7 and a multiplayer spin-off codenamed Maverick, which is an action shooter.

Both games are based on the Snowdrop engine, and the release is scheduled for 2026, although they were originally planned to be released in 2025. Ubisoft is “tired” of the familiar Far Cry formula, and wants to do something new. So, Far Cry 7 will give the player 24 real hours (72 hours of in-game time) to save the main character’s family from a mysterious cult. And the action of Maverick will unfold in Alaska, where gamers will have to fight harsh weather conditions, wild animals and each other.

Henderson also notes that the gameplay of the titles will get new features such as tactical sprints, jumping over obstacles, tackles and so on.
